Tanya Ekanayaka’s programme for this recital incorporated the world première of two of her own compositions, namely, 'Labyrinth; Vannam Lent' and 'Dhaivaya: Alter(ing) Hue' which represent the first compositions for the piano by a Sri Lankan composer to be performed at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.)

    (Tanya Ekanayaka is the first Sri Lankan to be invited to perform in the 'Pianists of the World' series at the world-renowned international recital venue, St Martin-in-the-Fields, in London. Founded by Dame Myra Hess, this is one of the longest running recital series at this concert venue. Her programme concluded with the world première of her composition 'Adahas: of Wings of Roots' which represents the first composition by a Sri Lankan composer to be performed at this venue.)
